Let’s do what we love, and do a lot of it!

-Marc Jacobs.

I’m sure we can all agree it’s been a weird old time over the past few months with good and bad parts to it, but generally it’s just been A LOT to process which can be pretty overwhelming…

I’ve really wanted to try and relax into the time and enjoy a different pace which is definitely easier said than done, especially when you are used to juggling lots and wearing many sparkly hats. As much as I didn’t want to put pressure on myself to be super productive, I do like to have a focus and find calmness in being creative, so this seemed like a better time than ever to pick up the paint brushes again.

I had a couple of projects that I needed to finish… (classic me) I love making & crafting and I often don’t buy something in the shops on the premise that I can recreate with my own flare, I’m forever starting fabulous projects but then get sidetracked by work & life.

But not this time! Now I could just work through things and really relish in all the creativity...

Getting resourceful…

I’d been meaning to jazz up these draws for a while but with Covid in mind also wanted to keep costs down so I limited myself to an old box of tester pots I’d stashed in my cupboard of shame under the stairs. I also managed to get a cheap ‘job lot’ of old mismatch knobs off ebay which I think really finish it off.

Inspiration for this design was taken from my fabulous friend Hannah from ‘The Little furniture Room’ be sure to check her out!

Something else that really helps me when I’m feeling stressed is to take time to draw, It gives me a break from screens which I often crave and there’s just something about taking time to play with shapes and colour that feeds my soul!

What’s been particularly lovely, is all the wonderful commisions from friends and strangers for bespoke paintings. I’ve truly loved hearing all the stories behind the requests and it really does mean the world to have my work be so well received!
